During the class, the following poem was submitted for review in week 8 and revised for the manuscript.

Houdini's Lament

A black and white rabbit in her wire cage

Daily watching the one who put her there,

A routine numbering almost five years.

This small bunny advanced to unknown age

By living with no life battles to wage.

She’s grown fat through ministrations of care,

Knowing well she is loved and held so dear.

She has it good but still feels bouts of rage.

Remembering the days where she was free,

She had roamed through strange, green yards as she willed.

Living on cunning for her right to be,

There was an excitement in not being killed,

A glee to outsmart, then choosing to flee.

Now, she’s caged until her heartbeats are stilled.
